Wow! What a week! Everything has changed! The mission is so awesome because everyday I see and hear and eat something different! It is such a sweet adventure! Well family, here I am in the dead center of Reynosa. My new area is sweet. It is actually green! It is more of what I pictured Mexico to be like when I pictured it in my head before I came here. I will send some pictures because seriously it is so open and green! We will just be walking and all the sudden find ourselves in the middle of a bunch of sheep or horses or turtles haha. Yeah I have seen a ton of turtles this week. I will have to take a picture. There is a portion of our area that is more like a city but we hardly go there since all it is is shopping centers and not houses. But man my area is HUGE! It is like 3 times as big as my last area and well.. we have a lot of work to do here!
So, let's see.. let me tell you about my famous house. More like famous bathroom. My house is know in the mission haha. It has a lot of character.. haha But I love it. You all thought our house on Royal Lane was weird.. haha the house is like a long hall way. When you first walk into the house you are in our closet, the next room is our bedroom, the next (I think used to be a library) It has mail slot in the door and a stick that say: I love after school programs and has one of those library windows in the door but this is our study room, the next is the kitchen we don't have a stove anymore or a washing machine so I'm gonna be learning a lot. But our bathroom is my favorite/most interesting part. I don't think the house had a bathroom to start cause our bathroom is that little room under the stairs. I will just have to send a picture to explain. But real, the house is sweet. It is all just a sweet adventure and I have seen hardly any bugs so I am totally content!
Well, The ward is maybe half the sixe of my last ward. In Loma Linda we had about 100 members. Yesterday there was maybe 40 in our ward. But they are super sweet. Right now my comps and I live in like a duplex. We live in the bottom right corner and two other families in our ward live in the left side. It is sweet. One of the families has 3 little daughters that come over and give us hugs everyday. The other is this sweet old lady that gives us yogurt and fruit all the time. I can already tell it is going to be hard to leave the neighbors.
Like I said we have a ton of work to do here. The area is huge and the houses are spread out. So the days are long and full of walking. We are trying to figure out the best way to do things around here right now. Cause president has said that people are ready in this area and I believe him. So we just gotta keep working! Cause they haven't been having a ton of success here. But really.. this area is super sweet and super ready for great things.
So, this letter is all over the place like usual. But I just looked at my planner. I always write little notes in there everyday. It's just too difficult to keep track of everything that happens! So two stories real quick. So apparently my comps. have had this investigator Rosie for awhile. She is super sweet and reads all the stuff they give her and everything but she won't commit to a baptismal date. Well, they didn't tell me any of this before our first appointment with her. So we teach here about the gospel of Jesus Christ and at the end I thought she had a baptismal date so I am like "When is your baptism?" She's like "I don't remember?" I'm like "you don't remember! But it's your baptism!" She's like oh "It's June 6th" hahaha. I was trying to figure out why my comps where like staring at me and her. They were super stoked afterwards. We visited her a few days later and she still remembered the date.. that she set up herself! haha! Pretty sweet!
The last little note I had is that we ride the old school buses a ton now since our area is so big. But it is super sweet cause they always have someone playing an instrument on them. I think mom would enjoy the live music of the crammed old school buses. They little mariachi bands, cute little old guys playing the accordions. It's super sweet. I am trying to soak it all in! K, that's all I got for this week! But I love you all so much!
