I love Chili. Have I told you all that? I have now become one of those people that cares Tabasco sauce on me at all times. I eat chili with everything. I had a sister show me how she makes her hot sauce this week because I will be making it all the time when I get home. Food just isn-t the same without it now haha. Mexico has ruined me. no it's a joke.
I took a super cute video this week of Wendy explaining to me how she makes salsa. It really was adorable and I will show you all someday haha she is just adorable. She joined us again two days this week. She is freaking awesome for only having like a month and a half as a member. She was actually teaching the doctrine! Not just sitting in the lessons like some of the members do that have years and years in the church. It was beautiful to watch. She will reach her goal to be a missionary someday and I am so excited for her.
At one point in the week we had 4 members join us for the day to join us. haha I totally felt like the Catholics here that march the street for Holy Week. But it really was a party. It is just so nice to see the friendships we have made in the ward. The ward is so helpful.
I will send you pictures because one of my investigators, Gerarda, totally punished me this week like a little kid. I have been inviting her to say the prayer in our lessons and she keeps saying the next time. So what I did is I started a list in my planner of who said the opening prayer and closing so that the next time we stopped by it was her turn haha. So we stopped by again. She told me it was my turn to say the prayer haha.. I pull out my planner and her eyes get all big. she then told us we couldn't stay cause she didn't have seats. haha I told her not to worry.. I would sit wherever..(The photo is of the seat I chose) She ended up saying the closing prayer :)
We caught the last talk of Woman's Conference. We were running around all day long. But I loved the talk that I heard from Elder Eyring. We watched it on an Ipad haha like 50 woman all gathered around an iPad.. it was a good experience.
Man my mind always go blank when I have things to say. But I really don't remember. We had a great lesson yesterday with a girl named Ivonne. She has been coming to church for quite sometime now. Her boyfriend is a member of the church. Her parents haven't approved of her decisions to change religion though since they are Catholic. Yesterday we had a chance to teach her in the chapel. The spirit was so strong. It was completely silent around us. It was sweet. She opened up to us about everything. She ended with such a beautiful prayer asking God for a help to take these steps towards baptism. It was just a great experience.
Well family I love you! I loved loved loved the pictures I got of Basil's baptism. HE LOOKS SO OLD! Freaked me out and continues to do so... He was 6 when I left and now he is getting baptized and all that! It is just too much! Everyone has changed so much!
Que tengan una bonita semana! Les quiero un buen! Cuidese mucho familia mia :)
Oh I totally forgot to write you all my funny story from this week. It may be Apostasy but whatever.. I was feeling a little sick during the week. My throat hurt and I had a running nose and felt just tired. I almost fell asleep during lunch one day! So the elders in our area offered to give me a blessing so I accepted. So when you saying a blessing it doesn't matter that you are a missionary you have to say the ful name of the person. The elder giving me the blessing is from Guatemala. He asked me my full name "Kelsy Rae Gillette" I told him.. He gets all serious.. and says "Crazy Rae Gillette.." and started to give me the blessing!!! I totally started to laughing.. I am glad that my laughing made him stop because I did not want a blessing for Crazy Rae! I totally had a good laugh and then helped him with his pronunciation. Honestly.. still makes me laugh to think about it.
