Hello Family!
It looks like everyone had a great Easter/Conference weekend. The weather looks so nice at home. It has warmed up a ton here. It is so crazy to see that I am now repeating the seasons here.
Well, I have been wanting to call you all ALL WEEK LONG! hahah I needed a good Gillette family pep talk. Because well, President called me this week on Wednesday. I thought it was because we are renewing our house contract. But no. He called me as the new Sister Leader here in the mission!! It was crazy because he just started to go off, "Hermana Gillette, I am calling you to tell you that you are the new sister leader. You will be going to Loma Linda in a trio with Hermana Bowers. You two will be the sister leaders and you will be training another new missionary. Hermana Godoy will be training as well so help her to prepare for it. Congratulations."
..... and the only think I could think of as a response was "Oh my gosh!" hahah. I think he just about rethought everything with that said! haha but I was in shock!
But it is all true. I will be returning back to my first area next week Loma Linda. I will be companions with Hermana Bowers and together we will be training a new sister. It is crazy because Hermana Bowers and I started our missionaries together as baby sister missionaries in Loma Linda and now we are returning as the sister leaders. It is going to be weird having an American companion. But I am excited we are going to work so hard these last few months we have. I got to talk to her over the phone last night and it was great. Here's to hoping we can do everything the Lord has prepared for us there in Loma Linda.
I don't know how most people would react to going back to an area in the mission but I just can't believe God has given me this privilege. I get to go back and help my converts. Blanca, The Monsevais Family, Miguel, Esmeralda and Neftali, Frida and Zoila. It is going to be great.
I just really don't feel prepared to be sister leader. I have been waking up at night haha. I remember Hermana Sosa waking up at night and reading the Book of Mormon and now I am the one doing it. But everything will work out. If God thinks I should be in this calling well then there are things for me to do and to learn.
Other things from this week. It was conference. It was great! I loved it! SO many great talks! We had Betty and her family come to the conference and also Sammy joined us. It was also youth conference this week and Sammy joined the youth. They went and painted old ladies nails at a Old folks home and did their hair. Sammy was telling us all the drama that went down as the youth fought with the sassy grandmas haha sounded like a crazy experience. I am so hoping that Sammy's baptism will pull through this week. She has learned everything she just needs a little more courage. I think everything will work out. If not this week it will be soon enough!
Maria and Wendy had us over for lunch this week. We ate Lamb tacos. They were actually pretty good! I would eat them again. I still haven't told them I am leaving. I am scared to.. we have just become a family and I am going to be so sad to leave them.
We went and helped Sammy clean her house this week. Her little brothers and crazy! They are 5 and 6 years old and just crazy with energy! I found a way to keep them occupied as I let the draw all of my arms for hours as we cleaned. Hermana Godoy took a picture but It didn't turn out very well because they don't keep still for long but I will send it for the memory :)
Well, I think that's about all I have for this week! If I think of more I will send another email haha.
Love you all!
