Hello family!
Well, well, well.. it feels like a lifetime since I last wrote you! Guess that's a good thing since a lot of things have happened!
Well, to start off the week on Tuesday morning Hermana Godoy and I were going about our normal studies when we received a phone call from president telling us to meet him at our church in 10 minutes because I was going to go to Texas with him to get glasses. hahah we rushed and got to the church and then Hermana Tobon and Hermana Clubb showed up. Apparently president had called them too! Hermana Clubb and I spent the day as companions in the states... it felt almost like we were living a year back in the MTC haha it was a great time to say the least. We went and picked me out some glasses, as you can see in the photo I sent. It is weird wearing them but I am sure I will get used to them soon enough.
It is always fun to spend time with President and his wife. He took Hermana Clubb and I to lunch. He said we should pick something we couldn't find easily in Mexico to eat... so we went and had Sushi club. haha is he not just the best president? and the sushi was actually delicious! Hermana Clubb and I ate so much haha.. I think it made president sick. I also brought along my pamphlets that I had in English from the MTC and we contacted a few people which was super weird to do in English.. But it was a good experience!
Then throughout the week Hermana Godoy and I worked to find new people and help the people we are visiting to progress. We talked to Wendy (from the photo) and her mom about their goal for baptism but how they really did need to put going to church first on their list on Sundays. They said they felt the same. We talked to them about moving their baptismal dat to Feb 7 because it was for the 31st. Wendy was so sad.... I felt weird telling her she had to wait but we felt they should come to church one more time. since they missed the last Sunday. But they came to church yesterday and Wendy was so cute.. she even started her personal progress yesterday. They are so cute! and the whole ward is excited for their baptisms this week!
We also have been teaching this cute little family but they need to get married this month. It is always so hard when that is the case.. this is one of my biggest problems as a missionary.. I have never been very successful at helping people to marry.. but it is never to late to learn.. here's to hoping everything works out. The both talked to their bosses this week and changed their scheduled so they don't work Sundays anymore! So at least I really do believe they are committed!
We had a few more investigators at church yesterday! A cute grumpy old lady hahaha. I say it in the nicest way possible. She really was adorable but she was yelling at all the little kids in sacrament telling them to be quiet! At least she wanted to hear the testimonies.
It was a great week! Hermana Godoy and I are hoping to find a more people this week so that we can help as many people as we can during this transfer. The ward is great and really willing to help us so we should be able to find a lot more work in this nexy week!
One of the sisters in the ward brought us over a big breakfast this morning... I am most definitely in good hands here. I love this ward SO much!
I love you all too!
