Bueno!
Hey family! Well, how are all of you? I hope you all had great weeks! Sounds like you all are doing good! Well, I have SO much to tell you all for this week it isn't even funny and I am so sad because like always things will be forgotten.
Well, I will start with last Tuesday. It was the day of transfers. We had a Sister's meeting so all the sister missionaries in the mission went to Presidents house where Hermana Morales (president's wife) spoke to all of us and then we had lunch. Well.. a really crazy thing happened. President surprised us with a sleepover. haha it was awesome. Have I told you all how much I love president? haha yeah I think the life of a sister missionary is different from an elders haha but it was really fun to end my time with Hermana Lopez that way. Plus I got to really catch up with Hermana Sosa which was supr nice. All of us sisters had a great time together. It was a day to remember.
In the morning we went to our new area. Let me just sum up Puertas del Sol right now. It is what I have nicknamed Reynosa Celestial. haha I don't know if that is a bad thing to say but holy cow.. things are nice here. We live in a town home that is yeah.. like identically to Hilary and Derek's house. Which is an extremely nice change from my house in Reynosa that didn't have like anything. We have a washing machine! I mean come on, it doesn't get better than that... we haven't had water in 3 days.. so I haven't used it still but It still is there so that brings peace to my soul.
The members here are outstanding I have only been here a few days I am an so taken aback at the spirit each one of them holds. Our relief society president went out with us one day and she was contacting people on the street faster than any missionary I have seen haha. She was talking with all sorts of people, taking down address, setting appointments. It was legit. I was pretty much just standing there with my mouth hanging open.. it was just such a nice surprise. Every member we go to is so ready to help and so ready to share the gospel it has really just been so amazing. This area is my own promised land. haha I am getting really geeky. But They just really understand the member missionary work. I am just really thankful to God that he has trusted me with such a beautiful area and ward.
Well, we have eight investigators who are getting ready for baptism. I really just got thrown into this area with all these people who I met this week who are so ready to be baptized I am just hoping I can help them really get there, cause they are ready! I am preparing myself to help these people get through the oppositions of doubts and fears. Because from what i have seen these people have testimonies and desires. It is awesome.
We found a lady this week outside of her house and I started talking to her because her kids where trying to talk English to me haha. Anyways I invited her to listen to us and to be honest I thought she was going to say no by the look on her face as I started to talk about the church but after I asked her if we could teach her she say yes and the funny thing is she even looked surprised by her answer. But we went inside her home, met her other friend Daniel and sang, said a pray and she then explained to us that she had just found her church. She was happy and wasn't sure she wasn't all of our lessons but for today she would listen. We then taught her about the restoration. Hermana Magana had Rosie read the first vision for us. As she read the first vision.. it was unreal.. the spirit was so strong. By the end Rosie was in tears. It was seriously one of the best experiences I have ever been apart of. We had known this lady a whole 10 minutes and like 2 minutes before she had told us she was fine with her church and now she was crying. I can't exactly explain this experience right but in that moment i was really given a confirmation, an answer to my prayers, that God does care for each and every one of us. It just felt good to know that one more person felt loved in the world. Rosie then opened up to us about some problems going on in her life and how she had been looking to just feel a little bit of light, a lit bit of love. It was just beautiful.
Well, I won't write too much about that.. it was just a good missionary moment for me.
Well, we also had general conference this weekend. It was exactly what I need. Seriously, I am sad because I feel general conferences just won't be the same at home. They are pure gold out here. Seriously. I won't write about the talks but just know they were all so good! I was definitely missing donuts though.. that's for sure.
Hmm.. I know I have other things to write but I am drawing a huge blank.. The only other thing I can think of to say is really random. But I will add it. The sunrise and sunset are gorgeous here. I can see the sunset from my window in room in the morning and the sunset as we walk at night. Here is a lot different from my last area (less mud!) haha but it is still really pretty. My last area had like jungle parts and here there is a lot of prairie.. i can't remember how to spell that.. like a lot of fields! It is still so beautiful!
Just know that everything is going good out here. I was really nervous about this transfer but things have turned out a lot better than I could have every hoped for.. my prayers and your prayers have been answered because I am well taken care of. How sad that I would ever and have ever thought otherwise. God is so present in my life.
Thank you all
love and miss you!
