Hola!!
Como Estan? hahaha.. yeah I still am not very good at espanol but I will get better! Well I am here! I made it! How is everyone? I was trying to remember everyone's emails since I left them all at my residence hall so you may have to pass it around the family a little! But where to begin! So much has happened! Well, the second I got into the MTC on Wednesday I saw Aunt Wendy! haha yup! She put on my name tag and we got to talk for a second. Then I went all over, got my tag, my keys, my books, just everything! Then I get on the bus to go to the West Campus (This MTC has it's own campus just for Spanish speakers!) there are about 500 of us! So cool and so crazy! Well, I get on the bus and sit next to this other Hermana who turns out to be my companion! Her name is Hermana Clubb! She is so nice! She even brought me cookies... like how can I not love her after that. She is 19 and is from American Fork sometimes she can be kind of shy but I am kind of loud sometimes so I am working on it. But we have gotten along really well so far so that is good! Well then we went straight to Spanish class, then to a couple of meetings and that night we taught 3 investigators (in English, thank goodness) but it was fun. Can I just say that I LOVE the West campus. We have to go outside to go anywhere. everything is kind of outdoors-y haha so I don't feel entirely trapped in a box all day. Oh and Gen!! Thank you so much for the letter! I wrote you back! Oh and Hil did you get my letter? The second day I was here we go to breakfast and guess what they have MAPLE BARS! hahaha It made me a little homesick... it's funny how the thing that made me feel the most homesick was a donut.. oh man... I am just embarrassing. So Thursday we got out district leader and met out Branch President. Pres. Bowen he is super nice and his first counselor Brother Doman totally made me cry.. (first time I have cried since I have been here.) We had an interview and he told me that the first day I bore my testimony he just knew I was exactly where I am suppose to be. That I just have that glow (made me think of Hilary's sunshine comment again.. oh boy) haha it sounds super cheesy but it was just what I needed. Then Wednesday Hma. Clubb and I had our first all Spanish discussion. They are getting a lot of new teachers around here so our teaching schedule has been kind of whack.. so we still had not learned how to prayer or say our testimonies. So in personal and companionship study we taught ourselves :) it was actually really fun and I feel I got to personalize it more. But then we met with our investigator (alejandra) and it was so.. interesting. It was a struggle for sure. such a struggle. We taught her how to pray or so we attempted to haha but we are meeting with her again on Monday to redeem ourselves! So pray for us.. the good outcome from that was that after it was over I laughed harder than I have this whole year. tears were streaming oh man.. Hma. Clubb and I just laughed about how we were just trying to be so serious talking Spanish and yet we knew NADA! Pero esta bien. Right now in the MTC we talk a lot of Spanglish we are just suppose to use what we know so I am trying not to write Spanglish. Oh so I have to tell you.. Hma. Clubb is a runner. That is the only time we have run into conflict. But I have been super good! We have come up with a compromise. I run for 15 minutes with her and she runs fast and then we play volleyball for 15 minutes. Other than that we are good. I feel bad that I suck at running but I should get better that really is the hardest part of my day because 11 hours of class and a sucky nights sleep makes for a tired Hermana Gillette so I hope she appreciates that run cause it wears me out. But I really think she loves it so I don't put up a fight. Oh so then last night an Elder in out district got Krispy Kremes delivered to him so we had a fiesta and ate krispy kremes (it's so sad that I get so excited about donuts right now!) But it was fun! Oh and then today at 6;30am my zone went to the temple together! We went to a Spanish session! It was awesome! I seriously loved that! We should be able to do that every Saturday so i am excited! So if this email makes no sense I am just trying to go fast and get everything in. But know that I love you all so so much and that I am doing super well I am trying to send pictures but I will see if it works out these computers are confusing. But I really do love the MTC I love the feeling of just being here. I love all the lessons we have. I was laughing really hard about that first discussion the other day and I told my branch pres. sorry if I was being rude or distracting and he said Hma. Gillette I am glad you are laughing because "those who laugh, last" Doesn't that make sense? It made sense when he said it.. anyways. I love and miss you all so much! Hma. Clubb and I decorated our room the first day with pictures from home. Oh and one night in the middle of the night Dano's bear went off cause I kicked it or something and it woke us both up we had a good laugh about that one! Keep me updated, my p-days are Saturdays in case you couldn't tell :) Have a great week!!
Love,
Hermana Gillette
