So here in Reynosa they have this thing called Canicula.. It is what they call they heat of July and August. Since it gets to be about 120!! I am gonna die. It is so hot all the freaking time! The humidity here is no friend of mine.. haha seriously. SO HOT. The people around here say that the only living things outside during canicula are the missionaries and the dogs.. this has to be true. haha
Well, another crazy week here in Mexico. We seriously walked so much this week! It was nuts, this area is seriously huge! One day we were as far away from our house as you can get cause we had a family home evening. But it ended at 8pm. If we walked to the bus and it came on time we would get home on time. So we walk to the bus stop and wait and wait and wait. No bus. We waited like 20 minutes. We called the Bishop but he wasn't home. shoot! haha As we were trying to figure out who to call next we see a taxi so we decide we will take it. We don't usually take taxis cause they are more expensive but it was late. Turns out our taxi driver was a recent convert of the other sister missionaries in our stake! He didn't charge us for our taxi even though it was far! It was seriously awesome! Like seriously what were the chances?! That was pretty cool
Also we have this investigator Martin. He is this sweet old man that is in his 80's. He always has a snack prepared for us when we come to visit usually yogurt, or lemonade, or cookies. But this week he gave a yogurt and then as we were leaving he was like I have a surprise! He had gotten us little cakes! Seriously the cutest! These people.. I am so spoiled! I love them! We forgot to take a picture with him! I was sad.. next time! haha
I also had an interchange with the sister who is from El Salvador this week! On Friday I spent most of the day asking her question about El Salvador haha. It was fun to talk about Dano's mission. She told me I am welcome to go stay at her house anytime. Dano, I wanna go to El Salvador some day, you coming? She is from Santa Ana and I was like I think my brother served there! She was like no.. it's a different mission than San Salvador. I was like no.. he served there. haha I asked her what stake she was in and she said Modelo and then I remembered (no one knows how) that Dano served in Independencia, Modelo! She was like yeah! That ward is right next to mine! She starts listing off all these members she knew from independencia. That was pretty cool. She also told me to call Dano a Juanaco (don't know how to spell it!) haha but she was teaching me El Salvadorian words throughout the day. It was a fun day with her.
Man, I can't think of anything else to say... I probably should have just written this letter to Dano haha. But hopefully you all enjoy it too! Also it is Baby Sarah's birthday this week! So cute! Wish her a happy birthday! Sorry I am like outta time! But I love you all!
