Hey hey!
So I have like no time to write today.. but I have good reason :) Last night my comps and I got a phone call from President at like 10pm asking us to come and have breakfast at his has tomorrow (technically today). So this morning we went to president's house for breakfast. At first we were kind of confused as to why because we don't live close to the offices/president's house anymore really and he didn't give us a reason. But it was his and his wife's 30th wedding anniversary! So he wanted to throw her a little party/breakfast. President is the best. Seriously, how cute is that? yeah I am a cheesy sister missionary now cause I thought it was adorable. I will send a picture of the group that we had a breakfast this morning! But that was super fun. President was hilarious like always and well we all had a great time. Plus, the food was delicious!
So I actually have things to say this week! haha I feel like it has been forever! This week we had two days were we worked with the senior missionaries Elder Ramon and Sister Ramon. Since I am in a trio it was perfect because one of us would go with the elder missionaries and show them were to go while the other two of us would work in another part of our area. They are really sweet and I like them a lot! I respect senior missionaries a lot because man.. they work just like us. I don-t think I could do a mission when I am like 50.. but they are awesome! So, I went to a family home evening with the senior missionaries and the people we were visiting sell Mangoyadas and they gave us some. Seriously, mangoyadas are delicious, especially when it is so flipping hot outside right now! They are just like fresh mango slushies.. and confession time: I have been eating more and more chamoy (chile with sugar). I am officially becoming a Mexican!
Let's see what else, our investigator Martin is the cutest little old man I have ever met! We have a secret handshake now and well we are basically the best of friends. Martin is who bought us cakes last week! Seriously he is the nicest. I haven't been able to find my brown shoe polish since I transferred areas. I thought I left it in my other house and haven't gotten around to buying new shoe polish. The other day Martin brought us out kool-aid and then went back in his house when he came back out he had brown shoe polish and started to polish my shoes!! I was like "uh-huh! How is the missionary here Martin!" he just laughed! I wasn't going to let an 80 year old man polish my shoes! So we came to an agreement and I polished my own shoes. But he is too sweet! I went and bought new polish after that haha.
Then the next day, we went to a part of our area that is super far from our house. It was late and we waited and waited for our bus but in never came so we started to walk to a members house. But 2 things.. it was super hot and we had to walk on the side of the freeway. But we couldn't be late so we started to walk. Oh man, it was far and hot and it was the end of the day. I was tired... We are walking and walking.. when I hear "HERMANA GILLETTE!" I look up and see this truck that is filled with people flying down the freeway. It starts to slow down and I hear my name again and I then see a familiar face from my first area! One of the young woman haha. What she was doing in the back of this truck that was filled with people on the freeway I have no idea but it stops and she hands me a sombrero and then they were on there way again. It was awesome haha. I thought it was so funny. So Mexico. I was super grateful for the sombrero though!
We also had an activity for relief society this week. The grandma of our relief society president passed away this week so she went out of town and asked us to be in charge of the activity. We accepted and we taught how to make fabric softener.. I now know how to make fabric softener haha. I taught how... in Spanish.. it was quite the sight haha but it was super fun! When we showed up at the church this man asked us if we were there for the activity we were like yes! He then led us to the Single's Ward dance that they were having hahaha that was awkward. But hilarious. But there we saw a girl in our ward who had received her MISSION CALL! She is going to Guatemala! It was sweet to talk to her! It was awesome to see her in that stage of her mission. She reminded me a lot of me at that time "I'M going to Guatemala! Guatemala. Guatemala!" She just kept repeating it haha. yup, just like me. She is going to join us during this week it should be super fun!
This ward also had a miracle this week. This ward hasn't had a ward mission leader in who knows how long but this Sunday they set apart a ward mission leader. Seriously, Christmas came early this year. I can't explain how awesome this was haha. Plus, the person they called just so happened to be one of my favorite members in the ward. He is so awesome! I am stoked!
K, well, I am outta time. Shoot! But I love you all so much! Thank you for everything! I hope you all have great weeks! Miss you!
