man... what a great week. Seriously. This week was amazing! I am so excited to write you all about everything but I am sad cause I know I will forget to add some things. There is just always too much to tell. But first I wanna just say Happy Father's Day to everyone! Well.. not everyone.. just the dads that are reading this haha :) Haooy Father's Day!
Okay so this week.. firstly I had interchanges on Tuesday. I spent the day with the lovely Hermana Clubb. My first companion. It was so awesome to woke with her and see how much we both have grown up as missionaries. It was just a super sweet day. She is just too awesome. It was just fun all day long! It was just one of the many blessings of my week. I am sad cause I forgot to take a picture with her.. next time! It was fun to show her around my area as well and have her meet my investigators. I don't know the day was just sweet!
On Tuesday my companions and I went to visit with Javier. While we visited with him he confessed that he had smoked the day before. It was crazy. Because he hadn't smoked in weeks! I just felt for him.. We decided to see what we could do because we didn't want his little relapse to get in the way of all his progress. We had a sweet chat with him and in the end decided to all fast together for him to have strength. We called the Zone leaders afterwards and they said if everything went well for the rest of the week he could still be baptized. When then invited our whole district to participate in the fast too.. they all said yes cause they are awesome :) The next day we met up with Javier to start our fast with him. He seemed discouraged because of several reasons and nervous to fast since he had never fasted before. But he agreed to try.
I was feeling a little sad too because well I have seen all these awesome changes in him over the past few weeks and it was just hard to see him going through a hard time. But we seriously had a miracle happen! Our zone leaders said to call Javier in the mornings and in the evenings. The night we called Javier and he was doing awesome! His mood had totally changed. But why? Because one of our members who had met him once in her life almost 2 months ago. Had a feeling she should go visit Javier. He told us she had stopped by and brought cookies "but i didn't any!" he said hahaha. But she bore her testimony and she had to overcome drinking before she was baptized so they talked about that for awhile he said it was amazing and I believe him. I don't even know how she remembered where he lived.. it truly was a miracle. The next day we made lunch for us and Javier and brought it over and ended our fast and had lunch with him and some other missionaries from our district in the chapel! It was a surprise mini fiesta in celebration of Javier completing his first fast. He was actually really surprised and it all turned out awesome!
The next few days were really to watch Javier. We went through his house and threw away any trace of cigarettes and then gave him peanut M&M for him to replace the empty spots in his house since they are his favorite haha. But then came and joined us for a lot of our lessons over the next few days since he didn't want to be in his house bored and alone. It was nice to have him in the lessons and for him to get to know everyone we teach. His testimony is a sweet one to. He is just too cool.. I wish you all could met him! Oh and I forgot to mention! In the picture from his baptism.. I am wearing a new dress! He bought it for me as a thank you! Seriously.. I love my investigators! The mission is too sweet!
The baptism was beautiful! Our ward mission leader practically did everything! He is just too awesome! It was yesterday right after church so we had like the entire ward there to support Javier and his daughter and grandkids came too! It was awesome!
... What the freak?! hahaha shoot! I am totally not done writing you all! K, really quick! I forget to mention the craziness that was the baptismal font! Well it's a good thing we went to clean the baptismal font on Saturday cause we found out the something broke and the wouldn't drain! No one knows why they keep water in the baptismal font but it was full of old water and wouldn't drain! So we got some bucket and start to take the water out! It took hours! It was so exhausting and HOT! I wanted to die.. my body still feels like Jello from it hahaha. But it definitely brought some good laughs. It was fun none the less. K, this is my crazy week from the mission! I love you all and miss you! Until next week :)
