Hello Family!
Well, how is everyone? I hope you are all enjoying the summer back home. I just read some emails from you all and it seems like everyone is doing well! I can't believe it is already the end of July! Time really is freaking me out!!
Well, this week was good! It was a hot but it was good! The heat really isn't killing me too badly haha. But I swear i drink 2 gallons of water every single day. It is insane! Oh and if any of you need a good laugh today just try to picture me playing street soccer with a bunch of Mexicans because that is what I will be doing in about 4 hours.. haha yeah, it is gonna be pretty funny. We have a bunch of investigators who are teenagers and they all say they don't have friends. SO we decided to get them all together with us and the elders and play some futbol! Here they have a bunch of random street soccer fields if I haven't mentioned that before. But everyone in mexican can play soccer! But this is one thing I haven't caught onto yet. But I think it will be nice to run around for awhile.. if the heat doesn't kill me first!
As for this week, some of the good things that happened were that Iliana's spouse has now accepted getting married! So we are now in the process of getting that all set up! I am super stoked for them! They are a sweet family! Iliana made us some freaking delicious tamales this week too! SO that we could have dinner at night.. she is the best!
Also, Hermana Tere (Girlfriend of Hermano Miguel, one of my converts in loma linda) yeah Hermana Tere lives in our area! She was recently baptized and we are no0w teaching her daughter Celeste who has a baptismal date in August but she also has to get married first! There's gonna be a lot of weddings coming up here soon!
One day this week, Hermana Magana and I wanted to try a different way of contacting rather than knocking on doors. So we set up a table in front of our chapel and brought out two seats and put out some pamphlets. We also had an activity in our stake the next day so we put up some signs about the activity. The weird thing is that we actually had success! haha I think it was the fact that there was a gringa sitting at a table holding a sign that said "Necesita Empleo?" (translation: Do you need work?) that did the trick hahah. We met a lot of new people to teach so that was good.
The reason my sign asked if they need work was because we had an activity in our stake helping people find jobs and getting people signed up for school. It is amazing how many people we talked to that never finished elementary school or middle school! We went to the activity and helped our investigators sign up for school and work and stuff. That was pretty cool.
We also had a relief society activity this week that had different classes to help the woman find ways to make money too! They taught how to make laundry detergent, how to cut hair (this class was a little interesting.. they taught how to give haircuts in 15 minutes! Oh man.. it was priceless), how to make granola, how to make skirts and blouses. It was fun cause we took Brenda and she had a good time!
Oh! I forgot to write about my girl's day last p-day! It was such a good time! Hermana Janet is amazing! We had delicious tacos and did each others nails and cut each others hair! It was sweet! But.. I forgot my camera... and I forgot my camera today.. sorry.. but it was all way fun and well needed!
I can't think of much us to say. I have good news about mail! I got a letter from Jonathan this week 4 DAYS after he had sent it! That is a record! I also got one from Krick to from like a week after she sent it! Definitely use President's address! It is the fastest! I was seriously so happy! It was the best! Okay well, I should end this but I love you all so much! Have a wonderful week and a good 24th of July! Miss and love you all like crazy!
Love,
