Hola Familia,
This week was wonderful! We had a lot of good things happen here in Reynosa. The first being that we had rain! haha no, I am kidding, that was an excellent thing that happened but nothing compared to Remi's Baptism :)
Yes, Remi was baptized and confirmed this week and she will go to the temple this Saturday! I am so excited for her! She has already gone on trips to visit the temple in Monterrey but now she gets to go enter! I can't wait to see pictures. But really, her baptism was wonderful because we have been praying that her kids would come to church and her baptism this week because she really wanted all of them to be there and she was really worried about it. But sure enough all of her kids were there for all of church and her baptism so that was wonderful! She was really happy and her daughter Julia and her son in law hector spoke for her baptism it all just went really well.
I don't know if I have told you all but we have a ton of inactive members in our area so we have been visiting them as well. We seriously have like 1/5 of the members in this area actually assisting the church regularly or less. But we had 5 or 6 inactive families in church yesterday. It was such a miracle. Oh remember the girl I mentioned last week that asked us where a Mormon church was? Yeah well we taught her a couple of times this week and Hermana Lopez and I both were convinced she was a member by the way she talked about the church. So we checked with Church Headquarters this week and sure enough she is a member haha. But she came to church on Sunday and loved it! She made instant friends with Hermana Favilla.
Have I written you all about Hermana Favilla? Oh my gosh... I love her. I have a few moms, a few dads, a few grandparents here in Mexico. I swear Hermana Favilla is a long lost grandma of mine. She is hilarious and brings me tacos to eat at church hahah if that isn't an act of love I don't know what is! She is just this sweet little grandma. We are eating lunch with her today so I will be sure to take a picture so you all can see her!
Hmm.. what else.. I am pretty boring this week. We did get rain for two days and I was so so happy. It rained hard too. Hermana Lopez and I were drenched! Hermana Janet joined us in our work one of the days and we were all so excited about the rain that we ditched her car and walked in the rain haha. I have a few pictures to send this week! I actually have a lot of pictures to send this week! haha
Oh so random funny story.. this week a member gave us a pizza for dinner (gotta love the members!) But we ate half for dinner and half for breakfast. In the morning we are eating our pizza when Hermana Lopez starts freaking out and goes "Wit Her!" I am like "what?" "Wit Her en mi Sauce Pitza!!!" She then repeated this like 20 more times. I was dying she was saying "White hair in my pizza sauce!" Apparently she found one of my hair's in her pizza. This is the probably about being the only blonde in all of Mexico... I couldn't blame anyone else. But yes, we have only been speaking English in our apartment since she goes home soon she needs to practice for her English test haha But man I loved her saying "White Hair in my sauce pizza!" at one point she even called me "a sad white girl". Oh man, the adventures of having a Mexican companion!
Oh last thing.. after all the rain there was a double rainbow all the way across the sky! It was.. SO beautiful!! (pics attached)
Thank you all for the emails, pictures and most of all the support I love you all so much! I hope you have a great week! Miss and love you all!
Love, Hermana Gillette
Pictures: this statue is in our area :) last p-day we decided to not be boring missionaries and went to the downtown-ish part of our area it was way fun :).
Of all the people who went to the baptism and then there is a part of our area that has a lot of Day of the Dead graffiti. It's sweet! The double rainbow and eating Habenero chips with Hermana Perez, one of our mother's here in the mission :)
