Hello Family!
How are ya'll doing? I hope you all had a good week! This week was such yet another good one in the mission for me. I love working with Hermana Lopez. I am so scared of getting transferred after this transfer because we get along so well. But I will just enjoy everyday until that happens haha.
Well, let's see we have really built a good relationship with the bishop and his wife here. They are really funny people. They also have a 10 year old son that is super smart. He reminds me of Basil. I love it cause bishop will tell us a story and then Moroni, his son will tell the actual story of how things went down haha cause bishop is dramatic with his story telling. But Bishop Luis and Hermana Susy his wife have been helping us find all the less active and part member families in the area cause we have a list of over a 100 names but no addresses so we have been tracking them all down. We found one Hermano. Hermano Moron that is awesome. He has been inactive for years but he came to church on Sunday and an activity on Friday! Crazy how some people just need a little reminder that the gospel is there!
This week was kind of hard because a lot of our investigators just decided they don't want us to visit anymore. It is really hard because we find and teach all of these amazing people and then they just don't want to actually do anything. We have a lot of investigators right now that just like to talk and have good questions but don't want to read or pray or come to church. This week I really understood when Daniel told me before that sometimes the hardest part is caring too much for some of the investigators.
So, this next week Hermana Lopez and I have set goals and plans to find new people to teach. Today we had an awesome companionship study about our vision for the area. Together we have the energy and obedience to find the families that are ready so I am excited to see what happens.
Have I told you all about Chamoyada Jardin. It is like Iceberg but a lot better and we have one on our street. We are addicted to the snow cones they have there.. and yeah more mango ice cream. Last week for pday we made our own home made coconut ice cream. When it is this hot and there is no A/C you have to find ways to keep cool. I know there were days this week here where it was 105 or hotter. Thankfully everyone gives us water or I would be dead.
Speaking of the heat one day this week Hermana Lopez and I used our brains and decided to study in the church because it has air conditioning! Oh man, this is such a funny story but I feel it will have to be saved for later. But oh man it was heaven on Earth studying in the church. We live literally right next door to the church too so it is sweet!
We also have a goat farm in our neighborhood. I have been trying to make friends with the goats but they aren't really warming up to me haha. Yesterday I tried to take a picture with all the goats but it was a failure. Hermana Lopez got a good laugh though. I will send a picture.
I will also send a few more pictures. I took some last week of us cleaning our clothes because oh man.. it is an ordeal. Just be thankful for washing machines and A/C. I miss them I think equally as much as all of you. haha.
Oh I totally forgot to write about Remi. She is amazing. This week she read a ton in The Book of Mormon. She is understanding more and more everyday. She has been planning her baptism and has invited her whole family. Her daughter Julia, even told us that the other day she invited her son (Julia's brother) to them baptism and then taught him about The Word of Wisdom and gave him a pamphlet hahaha. She is just so awesome. She has turned from investigator to missionary. It's sweet. Plus we taught her on Wednesday night and at the end she goes to the fridge and pulls out... wow.. I have been sitting here trying to think of the English words for like 5 minutes... those Ziploc label boxes you use to keep food.. plastic containers! Got it! Yeah those! She had prepared dinner for us to take home and it was delicious! I have some wonderful mothers here :)
Okay I think that's all for this week! I love you all so much I hope you have a good week! Talk to you all later.
