Buenos Dias familia!
Hola hola! Wow it was so good to talk to all of you this week and know how you all are doing! I can still hear basil telling everyone to shout my name so that we could stay talking forever! Freaking kids are so cute! That is one thing I am excited to see when I get home.. Story picking her nose for hours! Haha it's now on my list of things to do.
Well let's see we saw a ton of miracles happen this week! I don't know if it was cause it was Christmas or because I talked to you all and it gave me a lot of energy to really work work work or what but the lord sent us blessing after blessing this week!
I will start with yesterday cause I really can't wait! We went out looking for our investigators yesterday in the morning at 7 in the morning in the pouring rain hoping that at least one person would join us dispite the cold rain. One family after another joined us. We had three families join us for church which was awesome. We have an investigator Claudia who was just in the hospital for 3 weeks. Bishop gave her a blessing this week cause she really felt horrible physically and spiritually cause she was stoked for her baptism but then got sick and everything fell through.
But after the blessing she has felt better and returned home but as we headed to her house I was thinking about how she probably would say no since it was cold, early and she is still getting better. But no! She joined us too!
We finally got to church and it was fun! The teacher never showed up for gospel principles and I have been asking the elders to teach the class the past month but yesterday it was mine turn! A little scary! Hahah funny I am a missionary but teaching a big class scared me but I think all went well. Then we had some time between church and lunch so we decided to knock doors. We found a house that has a HUGE orange parrot outside. I got super excited cause it was like the size of me and it is super pretty. I obviously tried to talk to the bird haha it then started calling "mama! Mama!" Hahaha I think it was scared of me. A lady came outside and we started to talk to her. Her name is Maria and she invited us in.
We went it and sang a hymn and said a prayer and I said the prayer I could hear her start to cry. Apparently her niece has diabetes and isn't doing well. She was grateful we came to visit and asked us for advice on how she can included God in her life to help her family. We talked about the plan of salvation and covenants that we can make with God. When I asked her if she would like to be baptized she asked if someone could baptize her that very day! It was awesome to say that least. She is now preparing to be baptized next month!
Okay so after all the people coming to church and the amazing miracle of finding maria I didn't think I could get any happier nor could I have asked God for more. We then went and visited with a family we have been teaching but the parents aren't married they also were hesitant about baptism at first since they were raised catholic. But we taught them about eternal marriage and how the gospel can bless their family. In the end the mom and dad accepted a date to be married and their daughter and then will be baptized in the beginning of February.
Wow wow wow. Miracles miracles miracles. This was just one day of the miracles. I never thought anything could beat last Christmas and well last Christmas was too good. But seriously this will be my favorite Christmas forever... As Mexican as it was as Emily would say :)
The other days were great too! We had a dinner with a cute family were only the mom is a member on Christmas eve and the mom gave us winter boots as a present! They are super comfy, I wearing them now and my toes are in heaven.
On Christmas day we were studying and a member brought by crocheted beanies that his aunt made us and ponche a Mexican Christmas drink and of course sweet bread, another member brought us by cute little bags of candy. The members here really spoil us too much!
We had weekly planning on Christmas so we didn't go out visiting as much as the other days but it was fun!
Wow, I am now drawing a blank. The only other thing I can remember is on Friday morning Hermana Godoy and I went out to work when I got a surprise! Hermana Sosa and Hermana Lopez came to visit me and say goodbye too me. Wow, that was hard. We all shared a moment laughing and then crying and then laughing again. Wow, if I learned any good thing out here it came from one of those two sisters. I know they are going to do so many great things at home now. I am chatting with Hermana Lopez now. So great I have found such great life long friends out here. But it was just really nice of them to think of me and come visit me.
Well, I love you all so much! It was fun talking to you all I hope you all have a great New Years! Oh and thank you so much for the packages!!! Seriously! You all know me too well! I loved everything you all sent too me! Oh and Vieve I got your package too! I have been using the jump rope in the morning and my legs feel like they did when I first started the mission haha and dad the offices called to tell me your package is there! I will be going today to pick it up! But thank you Krick and Jof and mom and Gen and Hilz and we'll just everyone!! Love you all!
