Family!
I hope you all had a great week and I hope you all enjoyed mom's homemade donuts yesterday! haha but really I couldn't help but wish a little I could have eaten just one! But all was okay because it was probably my favorite conference yet! It was amazing because we had so many people come to conference and well here it is at the chapel and people actually have to get ready and go. We are so incredibly lucky that it is just in our homes back in Utah. It is most definitely on my bucket list to go to conference when I get home because people here would die to have the chance to go and I sometimes had the chance and didn't take it! Now I am sitting here thinking what in the heck was I thinking?! haha But it's okay cause I had the chance to watch it here in Reynosa. How many people get that chance? I would say it is less.. so yeah i'm pretty lucky :)
Anyways, conference was awesome we had some of our investigator's attend all 4 sessions.. like seriously?! I don't know how I have gotten so lucky! These people are amazing here! Everyday I see changes and miracles here in the people and how the gospel is helping there lives. It is amazing! We have 4 baptisms planned for the next week and I couldn't be happier for them! I was thinking about where these people where just a couple of weeks ago and where they are now, my mind just explodes! I wish you all could just be here to meet and see these people! I think they would like you all.
K, these letter is super weird already. haha how about I tell you some actual details. So this week Hermana Sosa and I worked really hard to try and have exact obedience and well it was awesome! But man I am so tired haha.. But we had some really successful days and well I don't think I told you but the man with the ducks (remember him?) yeah we have been teaching him still! There are no elders near us so we teach him with members all the time! His name is Jose and he is getting baptized this week! But we went to his little garden this week and it was the day after we taught him the word of wisdom. He was super excited to see us and tells us he has a surprise for us. I think I need to note that José is such a hippy haha he has a sweet ponytail and loves talking about his love for nature.. he could talk about it for hours. Anyways he makes tortillas for himself to eat. 4 tortillas takes like 2 or 3 days cause he crushes the rice and sprouts by hand. Anyways he made like 100 tiny little tortillas for us to use for the sacrament next Sunday! Seriously, I can't even imagine how much work he put into this! It was seriously the cutest thing I have ever seen. It felt like Christmas Eve exchange all over again! But I had to take a picture so it is included. But he did this cause his bread is organic and he is all about being healthy and was super stoked that our church was like pro health haha.
Okay what else happened this week, we have had a lot of members give us references this week and well almost too many to keep track of. References are super sweet but trying to contact them all can be difficult. One day Sosa and I were trying to find this person but we could not find the street we spent forever trying to find it. We found all of the other streets next to it on the map. But not the one freaking street haha. It was frustrating so we decided to pray. We prayed and we looked and looked and we were like it doesn't exist. So we just start walking a different way we walk like two streets and I see this weird curved street. It's hard to explain haha. But I turn down it and seriously I immediately felt/knew that it was the street. I found the number and seriously it was awesome cause Hermana Sosa was all distraught still and I stop in front of the house and I look at Sosa and she is looking at her notes trying to find a different person to contact and I just say "Do you know what street this is? I know.." haha with a smile. It was sweet. We found 3 new investigators on just that itty bitty miracle of a street!
I don't really know what else to say, I am loving this area. I am loving everyday. Sometimes things are tough and I don't want to speak and I don't want to be exactly obedient. But I have just been trying to do what is expected and I am finding that I am learning a lot. I am super happy to be here going through hard things and learning a ton about my purpose here. I have been so blessed to have such a sweet family and such a sweet family here in Reynosa as well.
I can't believe that tomorrow I complete 3 months as a missionary :) :( It is crazy! I hope you all have a great week! This week is Asher, Dano and Vieve's BIRTHDAYS! Seriously I wish I could be partying with all of you or at least giving you all hugs! You are all so amazing! I love you so much more than I think you know! I am working super hard out here so that in 15 months I can party super hard with you all hahaha. well.. not too hard ;) haha I can't wait to hear about all the fiestas! Here in Mexico they have tons of piñata shops and all the piñatas are way bigger than actually people... it must take gallons of candies to fill them! I want to ditch my suitcases and bring my clothes home in piñatas cause I feel our family would have some fun with them haha. Anything is possible..
Love you all SO much!
