Babies! Babies! Babies! I am now writing late because I have been spending so much time looking at the pictures of Harrison! Tell Malia congrats! I am so stoked we have another nephew to add to the clan! He is so freaking cute! Plus with Oz.. yeah i'm dying! At least he is in Cali. So I know no one else is really seeing him either hahaha!
Well, it was another good week here in sunny Mexico! We had a 2 day zone conference this week so I got to see my mom again! (Hermana Sosa) It was so good to see her and well all of the sisters! We are like a gigantic family! It is so wonderful! But the conferences were good. I am so glad that I love my president cause he is such a big help in the mission and well I think in my life too! Him and his wife spoke to us. They talked a lot about how we can improve of study time in the morning which was sweet cause I love study time.
Have I told you all about our investigator Javier? I don't think so. He is truly a miracle. He is so amazing! He should be getting baptized this next Sunday! He is an investigator they were teaching before I got here. But he changes more and more every week! He has now given up drinking and smoking so that he can be baptized! He hasn't drank or smoked in 4 or 5 weeks.. and well, when I first met him he was super nice and helpful like he always is but I see that he himself is a lot more happy. We now teach him with his grand-kids. Who didn't really like to be around him very much before. It is all just so awesome. Whenever we meet with him he pulls out his Little study journal and reads us his questions and highlights from his Book of Mormon reading.... he is seriously a Golden investigator. I love it because he really doesn't need us anymore. He comes to church on his own. He is a lot like Hermana Blanca, one of my converts in Loma Linda. They are just truly converted and strong examples to me! It is all just too sweet!
Oh so I do have another little story from this week haha. So it was hot the other night (surprise, surprise..) so in the middle of the night one of my companions thought it would be a good idea to open a window. Well about 5am we wake up to an alarm. But it isn't our alarm.. it sounds different... and why is it coming from Hermana Flore's side of the closet... It was a GIANT CRICKET! Seriously it was huge! and it sounded like a fire alarm haha it was so loud. Oh man, I wish I would have gotten a video of us 3 at 5am trying to kill this giant cricket. Oh man, it was hilarious. We attempted but it jumped behind the closet. we pull the closet out and nothing. It wasn't there! So we go back to bed. Times like these I was so grateful I have been raised with 6 other crazy loud siblings cause i totally slept through the horrid sound haha. In the morning, I found it.. while I was in the shower! But I killed it! hahaha. We have now shut the Windows and pray for no more crickets and to sleep through the heat hahaha.
Wow, I think this is all of the stories I have for the week.. We have just been keeping busy. Walking, teaching, walking, teaching. My comps and I have started a new thing were I teach them primary songs in English while they teach me Spanish ones. It is pretty cool and it helps me to keep my Spanish coming. Everyone here is super impressed by my Spanish! Not gonna lie it is the biggest blessing! I am thankful I have had the privilege to have so many native companions each one has taught me different things to help my Spanish. It is awesome!
K, well I love you all so much! Have a good week! Know that I am thinking about and praying for you all!
Love,
Hermana Gillette
