Helllloooooo Family!
Wow! It feels good to be able to have a moment to really explain all that has been going on! Here we are! Well, the good news is that Hermana Godoy, the new missionary is here and is happy and healthy haha. She is a delight to say the least. I have never had the chance to work with a new missionary until this week and I can now understand what a privilege it is. There really is something special to them.
Well, to start off things went too fast with Hermana Reyes. I can't believe she will be going home this week! I will really honestly miss her. The last night together neither of us could sleep. The reality set in of her going home and me training and we were just a disaster hahah. But we packed up and went to the mission office all in one piece.
When we got to the mission office it was quick goodbyes and start into the conference with all the new missionaries. Hermana Godoy is the only new missionary so when I walked in she ran and gave me a nig hug and said I feel a lot better now that you are here. It was such a nice way to start things. The day was spent in meetings and getting everything in order. If you all wanna here about my awkward life.. Since I was the only sister missionary with time on the mission in the meetings, I spent two days translating Spanish into English for the new missionaries! It was pretty crazy to see how far I have come with the language! But I definitely came home with a headache after translating and hearing so much English and Spanish! haha but it was good.
Anyways we came back to good old Puertas and started to work. OH lemme tell you guys something crazy.. Hermana Godoy has a year and 2 months as a member of the church. Isn't that crazy? I think it is super cool. She has a ton of faith and well isn't the least bit timid to go out and work and teach and contact which is awesome. Okay this is probably all super boring to you all but I thought I should explain. Basically I think with such little time as a member she really connects well with the investigators since she was in the shoes not to long ago.
I feel like I have been able to take this time to start fresh again in the mission. It was a great week to just know that with a new missionary this really is the time and opportunity for me to forget all the problems with the areas and the small little things that get in the way of really feeling the spirit of missionary work and helping others and well this is exactly what we did this week! We found some awesome new people this week. We found a girl named Bessy waiting outside her house. We started to talk to her and taught her about the restoration. She just lost her mom and she is missing an arm but she is gorgeous haha. She honestly looks like a supermodel, just so ya'll get a visual. Anyways, we had a good chat with her and she ended up telling us that she has been waiting outside of her house the past 3 days but she had no idea why. She said she just had a feeling something good was gonna come. So weird. We ended up inviting her to be baptized and she started to cry she was so excited. It was freaking awesome. Honestly our lesson was like something from The District videos hahah. It was sick. It was definitely a sweet experience to say the least.
We also took all of the young men and young women out caroling with us this week to invite less active members and investigators to our ward Christmas party. It was really fun going around singing and laughing and just looking for more people to join us in the fun. Our ward party is this Wednesday it is also our "Christmas" as a mission. All of us are going to get together as a mission and have Christmas I am getting pretty excited for it.
This is getting long and my time is getting short! But I am glad I had a little time to catch up with writing you all! I hope everyone is doing well and enjoying the spirit of Christmas.. even without snow.. It is feeling about 80 degrees here today as you can tell by the picture. Most definitely does not feel like Christmas but I think that that is best because I would probably to start get all trunky and stuff hahaha.
Well, I should probably get going! But know that I love and miss you all so much!
