Well hey hey! I have good news! You know how you all have been stressing over mail... well.. I think I am the most hated missionary in the mission because on Saturday I received I think it was 9 letters!!! So pretty much it was the best day ever! Thank you all so much! But I think I figured out the best way to get me letters is through the Texas address cause I received a letter from Kristin through that address last p-day. So it works! Everyone in my district was laughing at my envelope that had "LOSER" written on it. that was hilarious! Now i just need to figure out how to transfer those 6 bucks into pesos haha.
Okay so this week went by really fast. We just had a ton of meetings so we didn't get to teach as much which was kind of depressing. BUT the meetings were amazing... We got to travel to Monterrey. A different state here in Mexico a little over 3 hours away and see an apostle. It is CRAZY how crazy it was to see an apostle here in a different country and as a missionary. It is a HUGE deal. At first I was kind of like what is all the fuss.. like I was excited but my comps were like loosing sleep over it and buying new clothes and all this stuff. Seriously, they were freaking out. But then we got there and I found myself geeking out over Elder Cook a little bit I must admit. hahaha But really it was amazing. His talk seriously spoke right to all of my discouragement I have been having out here. It was amazing!
But let me tell you a little bit about the adventure it took to get to Monterrey. We left our house at 11pm on Friday and went to our stake center. Every single missionary in my mission was there.. all 80 of us.. yeah we are a tiny mission. Most missions have over 200 missionaries. We are definitely still a new mission. Anyways, we slept at the stake center until 2am. It was pretty interesting. Not many people slept cause we where sleeping on tile. Carpet doesn't exist here.. I miss it. Anyways, I slept which was good. We then got ready then got on the bus. We drove to Monterrey and got there around 7 I think. We had our conference and then headed back. I got to get a glimpse of the temple from a distance which is as close as I will get to it in my whole mission. haha but that was cool. They had mountains in Monterrey and man.. they were awesome! That little trip was such a cool privilege I loved every moment!
Well, the conference was awesome. We got so lucky. We also had a multi zone conference this week to that was good too! But other than that I think some of you will be relieved to know I didn't feel frustrated with the language this week. Seriously at lunch one day this week something clicked and ever since then I have been much better about just opening my mouth and just speaking the Spanish I know. Hermana Bowers and I have stopped speaking any sort of English to each other when we come home at night and my companions and I have been telling each other stories back and forth as we walk all the time now so that I can practice. They love hearing stories about mom hahah. Also they just think all of my siblings are the coolest people ever so I think I have portrayed everyone correctly. haha. But I did accidently call my comps. mom a clown this week. That was funny haha. I have been teaching them little phrases of English and it is so funny to hear them talk. They are like little kids. I say some little thing in English and they repeat it and then say it over and over again.
So I think that is all I have to say for this week I may write another email of Q/A in a minute we will see :) Because I finally got letters! Seriously thank all so much!
Love you all!
