So I have gotten caught up reading emails. They were good ones today! I can't believe I am hearing about snow! So crazy! It is still so hot here!
Well, This week was an excellent one as far as missionary work! On Tuesday we had interchanges and guess who came to my area to work with me? The one and only Hermana Lopez. Man, I love her! It was so wonderful to be able to spend another day working with her. Seriously our unity as companions is something that I think a lot of companionships look for. At least for me with all of my companionships.. unity is always so important. But we were able to find some new investigators, so that was good.
Then, we had interviews with President Morales and that was good. He keeps tell me I am no longer a baby in the mission even though we are still the youngest sister missionaries.. haha But looks like some new things are coming my way.. more to tell later :)
Hermana Magana and I worked our butts off this week looking for new people to teach and trying to find the people who are actually wanting to changes. We found some great new people to teach and in these past two weeks we have found about 30 new people to teach! Now it is just finding out who is really interested haha. But things should work out well for us. It has been awesome to get to know so many new people lately and hear their stories.
This week was also Day of the Dead so everyone had there little setups for their dead loved ones. What they do is they make little shrines for their family members and then leave out there favorite meals for the dead to come and eat. They have a day they leave food out for the children and another for the adults. Then the families also eat the food. Let's just say it was really cool. These people go all out and well I definitely ate well over 30 tamales this week. haha.
It was also Halloween and I actually saw quite a lot of kids dressed up for Halloween. They don't do trick or treating but I did see a few parties.
What else? We went and did some splits this week. We have 4 girls in our ward who are preparing for missions. I know, it is seriously awesome! So we have decided to go on little interchanges with them. One day I went out and worked with Mayra who is 18. She is awesome. I have seriously loved going on splits because there really is something special about members sharing there testimonies. These girls are seriously so cute and willing even though missionary work is still so new to them. Anyways it was just awesome.
We also had a stake conference here yesterday. My mission president and his wife spoke and the Torreon Mexico temple president spoke. They all talked about family history work. It was awesome as well. Our mission has been putting a focus on family history work lately and it has been really cool actually. We have been helping Vicenta out recent convert fill out here family history book. As I have mentioned before she is learning to read and write so it has made the whole process that much more interesting and fun.
Everything is going good here in Puertas. I am really enjoying the area and the members and the work. I hope you all are doing well back at home! Miss you all!
