Hey Hey Family!
I hope everyone is having a great Monday. The weeks are flying by. I feel like I just wrote you all.. Dad wrote me last week and told me I only had 15 weeks left in his letter. When you put it that way it makes me feel like I have no time at all. All of the "grandma" jokes have now started here. I am the oldest of the sister missionaries now and the missionary with the most time in my district.. I think maybe even in my whole zone.. makes me sick. I feel like I am still just starting!
But enough about time! This week was another great one! We had a few downers as we saw some of our investigators lose some desires to change but overall we have kept the faith that everything will turn out well. We had Stake Conference this weekend and it was great. Marina came with us on Saturday night and a few of our investigators joined us yesterday. One of the Monterrey Temple Counselors came and spoke with his wife. I remembered my last Stake Conference here when the President of the Monterrey Temple spoke and it was seriously a spiritual experience that tops most. But this conference too was good. I loved the talk from the counselor. The best part was that I Marina loved it too!
I can hardly remember all the things that happened this week.. I have got all my days and months mixed up haha. We had to go to the mission offices this week so that I could fill out papers for my Green Card! Wooo. I am not illegal.. I asked president if I could make my residence here for another year.. :) hahaha
I taught an English class this week because some of our investigators have been commenting that they wanted me to help their kids with their English home work. It was a good experience! Except the kids didn't believe in God. Like these little kids! Maybe it is just because I am a sister missionary but I was like let's start with a prayer so that God can help us! and one of the kids goes "Help, yes. God, no." We got off to a rough start but by the end we were all laughing. Here's to hoping we can help them a little bit.. spiritually or not.. looks like they have been through some stuff..
Maria and Wendy and so amazing! We have been teaching Sammy in their house this week. It has been awesome! Wendy has vacations from school this week and yesterday she called us because she wanted to join us as a mini missionary for a few days!
What else? Oh in the morning we went to Hermana Nancy's house. She is going to make up school and needed models. Since I have been through the process of needing models for school I was happy to do so :) I remember in my beauty school we would cute Elder's hair hahaha But Hermana Godoy and I went to her house this morning and she did our make up. I wil send pictures. It was a fun morning.
My favorite part of the week I think was yesterday when a sister in our ward forgot that she had signed up for us to eat with her and when we went to her house she wasn't home. It was Sunday so we could buy anything to eat. We started to walk to our house to find something to eat there. Hermana Alberta, a less active member found us on our way and offered us to go eat at her house. To be honest, I love the food Hermana Alberta makes. It may be my favorite house I have eaten at in all my mission. I actually just love Hermana Alberta's house and her and her family. I don't know I just feel super close to her. It isn't that she makes a ton of food or has a super sweet place. But there is just a spirit of "home" in her, her house and her food.. does that even make sense? Well, we had a great visit and read some of the Joseph Smith History with her yesterday. It was just a sweet experience. At the end she asked me for mom's phone number so she could tell you, mom, that she wants to adopt me hahaha.
Well, I think that's all I got for today. I love you all! Hope you all had a great week and an even better one this week!
Love,
