Wow wow wow. God always finds a way to make me humble. In the last email I wrote about how everyone this is going to be my warmest winter yet.... hahahahhahahahahahahhaha. Man, I could laugh and laugh and laugh about THAT comment for days. It has been in the 30's here all week and 30's without a heater in the house. How is it that possibly my coldest Christmas will be spent here in MEXICO. Never thought that would happen. The good thing is the people here are amazing and have given me some sweaters to keep warm. But man, it's pretty cold. I actually am doing well be my companion who is from Tabasco, where it is super hot is totally suffering. But, I am happy that Christmas will feel a little more like Christmas than I thought.
Well, the people here share my same love for Christmas. EVERYONE is already celebrating Christmas. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE gives us hot chocolate (with rice, or oatmeal or tortillas in the hot chocolate) with sweet bread. It is so good but I come home so full every night. But I can't complain. We are so spoiled.
But I do have a funny story. Yesterday, we had awesome classes at church. To begin we had our primary program. I was totally thinking about Kylie and her program with the bird! haha. Well, then we had a class on Charity and then Relief Society we all were able to share an experience about prayer. It was just really good. But then we went to lunch. We share our area with the elders so we eat with the elders everyday. Yesterday was my day to share the scripture so I shared my scripture about charity and then asked if the family needed help. They said no and that they were good. Then one of the elders said that they needed help building a dog house. I was like okay when? They were like right now. I am like let's go! they all just started laughing. Psh.. we are missionaries.. there isn't a limit as to the things we can do for service. So.. I helped Brother Guerrero build his dog house yesterday hahaha. Oh the things you learn to do out here in the mission. But the dog house actually worked out and at the end the family gave me their old Christmas tree! So we now have a little Christmas tree in our house haha I am so happy. It was sweet. Yeah, random story.
Okay, next. This week we found an awesome new investigator her name is Luisa. We were knocking doors the week before and she opened up her window to us and told us to come back the next Friday at the same time. She acted a little weird when we contacted here but we went to the appointment this Friday, knocked on the door and her and another woman answered the door. The other lady asked if we were the missionaries? We said yes! She said she figured it was us since her daughter (luisa) told her that some american missionary was coming to visit haha. But they had gotten all ready for our appointment and were waiting for us. Turns out Luisa is blind and wanted to visit with us but with her being alone in her house the week before she didn't want to open the door to us. Luisa is 35 and has a little boy that is super cute. He loves helicopters and reminds me of the nephews. Anyways we had a great visit with her and her mom and are feeling that they are our newest golden investigators.
What else, this morning we went over to our ward mission leaders house and made tortillas with his wife Hermana Lupita. I need to practice my tortilla making skills so that I can be all ready for you guys when I get home. Remind me to make you all Polsoli when I get home. Dano, did you eat Polsoli? It is my favorite meal here in Mexico. It is a soup that you eat with tostadas that has pork, lettuce, radishes, chili, elote, lime, I don't remember what else but it is literally so good!
We also had a few different Family Home evening's this week with ward members. They all were awesome. Last night we had one in the bishop's house. He has 3 little boys and they are all so funny. They went around with us yesterday to gather our investogators for the family night. They all wore sunglasses and black hats and said they were our body guards. My life is so random, running around Mexico with 3 little Mexican boys in sunglasses at 7 at night.
Things went well this week. Our investogators are still having problems and doubts. Which is sad but I know that our efforts are paying off. We are helping these people come unto Christ and that is the important part. I am super excited to be able to spend this Christmas dedicated to the Savior. Or well... this is my goal. After this Sunday, I realized I need to take more advantage of this opportunity to really serve ALL of my time and ALL of my efforts. I want to come home dead tired. I actually don't want to go home so I am not going to talk about that. I still have lots of time haha.
Well, I love you all a ton. I hope you all aren't dying to much in the cold. When there is snow. I want pictures pleassseeeee :) Hoping everyone is doing well!
